Our Story
Mioeco is built around one question: why should a greener home cost more, or take more effort, than the one you already have? We wanted the switch from disposable to reusable to feel easy, so we began with the thing most kitchens go through fastest, the paper towel roll.
Built on proof
From the first product we built Mioeco around certification rather than claims. Our reusable towels are made from GOTS-certified organic cotton. GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard, covers more than the cotton field. It limits the bleaches, dyes and chemicals allowed at every stage of production, and the facilities that make certified textiles are audited on site. Our GOTS organic certification page explains what the label requires.
The towels are made in a carbon-neutral facility that runs on solar power. That claim covers how the towels are manufactured (not shipping or packaging), and we would rather tell you that up front. You can read more on our carbon-neutral manufacturing page.
What we make
Our range is small on purpose. There are reusable paper towels in packs of 10, 20 and 24, a larger 18 x 15 inch size, and 24-piece sets in four color palettes: Natural Calm, Blush Harmony, Warm Earth and Coastal Breeze. They go in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry and come back ready for the kitchen. Next to the towels sit our beeswax food wraps, a reusable alternative to plastic wrap for leftovers, cheese and half-used vegetables.
Who it's for
Most of our customers aren't zero-waste purists, and we don't expect them to be. They run busy homes, decided to stop buying paper towels (or at least buy far fewer), and wanted something that holds up to daily use. The line we read most often in reviews is some version of "we don't buy paper towels anymore." That is the change we are here for: one practical swap, then the next one when you're ready.
